This research paper presents a study of adornment and symbolism in the tradition of scenic painting in Rajasthan. Before understanding the nature of scenic painting in post-independence Rajasthan, it is essential to understand the importance of Rajasthan's ancient scenic painting tradition, which forms the basis of our modern scenic painting style. Indian art tradition has a rich history of painting, and Rajasthani painting is an important link in this tradition. It reflects not only beauty but also religious, cultural, and political symbols. The research paper studies styles like Mewar, Marwar, Bundi-Kota, Kishangarh, Bikaner, and Shekhawati to show how artists did not merely make scenic painting a decorative tradition but gave importance to life and culture in their scenic paintings. On this basis, post-independence Rajasthani scenic painters have realized this in their painting aesthetics. This study clarifies that adornment gives beauty and attraction to paintings, while symbolism provides them with depth and meaning.
